About DVSS - Letter from the Owner

In 2001, I completed an internship at CompCore, Intl. and took over as head audio engineer.  CompCore was a full service duplication house in Morton Grove, Illinois.  Here I gained invaluable experience recording, editing, mastering, duplicating, and interfacing with clients.  In school, I learned how to record.  In the field, I learned how to use that knowledge to become a successful engineer in a business that has proven to be challenging and fun, and has allowed my creative instincts to flourish.

Like many other smaller American companies, CompCore, Intl. was hit hard in the wake of the September 11th tragedy and was forced to close it's doors.  I scrambled for another job, sending resumes, following up, and then following up again.  But the job market was tight to say the least.  It was a recession, no one was hiring.  But there was one option.

I bought the equipment from my ex-employer!  When it came time for the auction, the owners wanted to save the best for last, leaving all the studio equipment safe and sound through the four hour excursion.  This proved to be a tremendous benefit to me.  By the time we got to the studio, and the auctioneers began their infinite ramblings, not only had everyone spent the majority of their money, but I had spent the last four hours letting everyone know about my situation, gaining sympathy, and making friends.

In the end, no one even bid against me!  Something was guiding me somewhere, turning despair into dreams, and fear into good fortune.

In the years since, I have grown as a businessman, as an engineer, and as person, giving birth to a son, Maximilian, buying a home, and working harder than ever before.

My mission as an entrepreneur is to help put the humanity back into the business.  I have tried to offer a comfortable, creative working environment, down to earth interaction, professional expertise, and quality equipment. My hope is to make my clients feel at home, so they can relax and focus on the tasks at hand.  As a hands-on business owner, I have kept my overhead low, allowing me to offer lower rates than most of my competitors.  The business phone is my cell phone.  The only time I don't answer is when I am with another client or with my family.  I believe that you can be professional without having to be impersonal.

Thank you in advance, for giving me a chance and helping me move forward.

Work Hard, Play Hard, Think Well...

Sincerely,
